«Dupp» is a buoy that delivers updated weather data both to a web- site and an app. Water temperature, air temperature and wave height will be measured automatically and reported instantly via a communication unit, using a NBioT network (NarrowBand internett of things). This will give people more accurate and up-to-date information all year round if desired.
With focus on production method, electronics and ergonomics the buoy is designed in such a way that it’s both adapted to the usage and can be recognized as a brand.
I’ve developed the buoy in collaboration with PartnerPlast. They offer smart products and solutions to the Seismic, Offshore & Subsea, Aqu- aculture and Marine markets. PartnerPlast have leading capabilities in rotational- and polyurethane moulding, and electronics development.
The Oslo archipelago service was involved from the very beginning of the project. Since it was these people who handled the "bath buoys" in Oslo they were naturally involved in the process. I obtained insights about handling, storing and maintenance of the buoys.
