Haugvik Design is an Oslo based design consultancy run and owned by Kristian Haugvik. I offer consulting services and specialize in product design but also have experience working with service and interaction design. I strive to gain new professional perspectives and experiences and that’s why I'm always on the lookout for new projects and challenges. Haugvik Design is also responsible for the furniture design company called Shape Møbelstudio.
I’ve has always had an interest in the aesthetic, whether it was products, vehicles, architecture or fashion. My design journey began in 2015 when I started a 1-year course at Krabbesholm Højskole in Denmark. My goal was to develop myself on a personal level through a creative working process and also use my time there as a stepping-stone to future education. Today I have a masters degree in design from The Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO).
Besides my time at AHO and Krabbesholm, I spent a semester in California where I attended the Art Center College of Design as an exchange student. I took courses such as Advanced 3D modeling, Design for sustainability, Brand Strategy and Interaction design for consumer products. I gained invaluable insights in a different design culture far away from my "home base" which has helped me to grow as a more diverse designer.
I’m an accurate, hardworking and ambitious designer. It's important to me that the work I do have precision and thoroughness and I look at myself as an efficient and diligent person. As a designer, I want to create solutions that can improve the lives of as many people as possible, I am responsible for the work I create and the effect it has on the world. Even though I enjoy working in many different fields of design I have a strong interest for zero emission boat design and furniture design.
I master software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360, KeyShot, Adobe Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
